Saint Anthony of Padua Grade School
"Where Faith and Knowledge Meet"

St. Anthony of Padua Grade School's Philosophy

Saint Anthony of Padua Grade School is a child centered Christian community which focuses on the Good News of Jesus. Each child is recognized as a unique individual. The school emphasizes the whole child; moral, spiritual, aesthetic, intellectual, emotional, social, and physical.

The school strives to meet the diverse needs of all students. Affirming that the family is the primary educator of the child, the school seeks to work with the family to help the child grow in faith and knowledge.

In recognition of the needs and gifts of the students population, our academic program challenges each student to achieve his or her full potential. A variety of instructional methods and evaluation techniques are used to ensure the progress of each student. For each child to feel successful, based on his/her own ability, the school provides various support services.

In order to give the students of Saint Anthony of Padua Grade School an opportunity to succeed in our increasingly technological world, the school will implement current technology emphasizing Christian values to guide the students to make appropriate, independent choices. In this field, as in all other area of the curriculum, teachers strive to follow Christ's teaching.

The school's foundation was built upon the philosophies of both the Sisters of St. Francis (www.osfphila.org) and the Oblates of St. Francis deSales. In modeling their Christian image, the school participates in many and varied outreach projects, both local and global. The faculty, staff, and students actively participate in these projects to further peace and justice throughout the world. It is hoped that by providing these many opportunities, these children will become compassionate and caring individuals as adults in society.
